Artists

Interested in working together? Fill out some info and we will be in touch shortly! We can't wait to hear from you!

Confluence, a creative community space, is seeking artists who would like to showcase and sell their work from our gallery wall.

We are seeking an eclectic mix of art, with priority for works that include scenes of the South Fork River, Gaston County, or goats (it’s a Cramerton thing). We are open to other themes. Priority will be given to artists local to the South Fork River Basin which includes Gaston, Lincoln, Catawba, and Cleveland counties, followed by those within the extended Catawba River Basin.

Confluence will promote featured artists through social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, as well as their website (www.confluencesouthfork.org). All proceeds from sales at Confluence go directly back into supporting the health of the South Fork River through the mission of the South Fork Collective and Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation.

Eligibility - All artists ages 16 and older. Work must be original and completed within the last five years. Pieces that contain explicit nudity or harsh language are not eligible for showcase due to the family oriented programming and age groups that frequent our space.

Rules - Works must be for sale and purchase ready i.e. framed, packaged, etc. by the artist. Applications must be submitted electronically; no pieces will be accepted at Confluence for review. Work that will be displayed on a wall must be ready to hang. Works on paper must be covered with glass and framed. Paintings must be framed or gallery wrapped. Confluence reserves the right to reject works initially accepted electronically due to content, space constraints, or inability to properly install the work.

Commission & Consignment - Confluence keeps a commission of 25% on all sales of original art.  Artists may provide prints and other related retail items at the discretion of Confluence’s Creative Director, at a consignment rate of 25% of the retail price. Retail items must utilize the artist's work and can include prints, postcards, stickers, etc. Confluence accepts responsibility for taxes and fees associated with sales. Checks for Artists will be cut monthly on the 15th of each month for works sold in the previous month. (Ex. Works sold in the month of June will have checks sent out on July 15.) Artists are responsible for any costs related to transporting accepted work to the gallery and retrieval from the gallery if unsold over a period of three months (or otherwise agreed to timeframe).

Accepted Work Delivery and Return - Accepted work must arrive at Confluence by the agreed upon due date. We will not accept work that needs to be returned via mail.

Usage - Artists applying to Confluence for the showcase and sale of their work grant Confluence unlimited, non-exclusive rights to use images of accepted work to promote the gallery.

About Confluence - A confluence is the junction where two rivers meet, where multiple things merge.  Confluence is a place where art, music, and recreation come together alongside the river to create that place of convergence for the community. Confluence is a place where neighbors and friends can meet to learn, grow, create, move, and find joy, together.

Confluence offers artists and artisans the opportunity to showcase their work without the exclusivity of representation. We are open to all forms of media and welcome sincerely both emerging and established artists.
