KEVIN DALE BRIDGES
Americana singer-songwriter Kevin Dale Bridges hails from the North Carolina County that produced bluegrass legend Earl Scruggs and country music Hall of Famer Don Gibson.
Following in these iconic footsteps, Kevin continues the tradition of the great roots music born in piedmont North Carolina, weaving the rural working class, Bible belt region of his upbringing into the imagery of his writing, creating songs of love, death and all that happens in between.
He has been a featured songwriter and performer at the Don Gibson Songwriting Symposium and performs as a solo artist and with the bands, CleveCo and Kill Devils. Kevin honed his songwriting skills as a founding member of the regionally popular rock bands, No Alibi and the Snakehandlers, and with the folk-rock band Dancing Hobos. Kevin’s song, Carolina Sing-Along was chosen for the album, NC Gold, a collection of songs from North Carolina songwriters to benefit the NC Gold Trail. In 2020, he released his first full length solo album, a collection of 14 new songs written during Covid-19 quarantine. Shelter and the first CleveCo album, Carolina Sing-Along are both available on Spotify and other streaming outlets.
“He’s a songwriter I really respect from up there in Shelby. He writes kind of like me. He’s not afraid to rock it and some of his songs are pretty up-tempo, which I like. His songs are interesting. They’re humorous. Some of them are sad. He’s got a wide range of songwriting ability and he’s a good performer… I like doing shows with Kevin because I get to sit there for half the show and listen to the other person, and he’s good.” - David Childers
